Wow What A Day.
Hi all.
My name is Ian.
Reason have started this blog is so that I can comment on a few other blogs as and when I get the chance - but I will also probably use this space for when I feel like the odd rant.
As you will probably learn down the line. I run the www.scifipulse.net blog site which is a site for comic book, video game, TV and Movie news.
Today has been a pretty big day on the site. I posted an interview with composer Robert J. Kral who did the music for last years animated movie Superman Doomsday and I posted exclusive images of the new Flash Gordon comic book which is looking fab.
While sticking on the subject of the new Flash Gordon I took time out to post a link to the article on a couple of message boards. Sometimes I wonder why I bother.
I will tell you for why shall I. With it being a new incarnation of Flash Gordon the general attitude is it will be crap - well if the TV series of last year is anything to go by I can see why people would think that - but this is a comic and not a TV show.
Basically it is about a civil war on Mongo much like the first ever series was back in the 30's only back then you were eased into it. The new comic takes you straight into it. Ming has a few more dimensions to him - and guess what? Staunch republicans are already seeing the strip as a riff on George Bush's administration. Like I care about something like that.
Some of these folks need to lighten up.
I mean V for Vendetta which was a BRITISH STRIP set in the UK. What happens? The Americans made the movie and the extreme right wing republicans scream blue bloody murder because they think it is against George Bush and is Anti American. Sure it was made by an American Production company and American Money was put into it - But the movie was about and set in the UK. All the characters were British.
So I ask you? What's so Anti Bush and Anti American about a story set in the UK?
